One of the many innovations that Innovative Counseling, Inc. officers is the three therapy dogs in training at Innovative.  The therapy dogs are Kiah, Kayleigh, and Mia.

Kiah
Kiah

Kiah was born on December 5, 2004.  She is a sable Shetland Sheepdog. Kiah has been coming to the office nearly every day since she was eight weeks old.  She is highly intelligent, kind and loving.  Kiah loves to be at the office.  Kiah is not only bonded to her owner, Cynde Tiesling, but loves Jessica Karch from the front office.  Or is it that Jessica loves Kiah.  Kiah is a “therapy dog in training”.  Kiah has not taken her test to become certified as a therapy dog, but will be doing that in the near future.  Kiah understands when she is working and when she is “off duty” and can just be a real dog.

Kayleigh
Kayleigh

Kayleigh was born April 11, 2005.  She is a tri colored Shetland Sheepdog. Kayleigh is the “middle child”.  Kayleigh has been coming to the office nearly every day since she was ten weeks old.  She is extremely intelligent and very sensitive to others feelings.  She adores babies and small children.  She loves to give them a kiss right on their cheeks.  She is Cynthia “Tia” Thomas’s dog.  Cynde Tiesling and Aaron Tiesling-Rusch have been training and working with Kayleigh to become a certified therapy dog.  She is still young but is learning well.  Kayleigh loves to come to the offices in Green Bay and the Northwoods.  Kayleigh loves to curl up and snuggle and be loved and petted.  Kayleigh is also a very accomplished singer.  She loves to sing (howl) for people and loves the attention that she gets for her special talent.

Mia
Mia

Mia was born on January 3, 2006.  She is a tri colored Shetland Sheepdog. Mia has been coming to the office since she was about eleven weeks old.  Mia is the youngest of the “therapy dogs in training” at Innovative.  She is still a puppy in so many ways.  She is a bit shy yet.  She is smaller than the other two dogs and much more of a lap dog.  She loves to be snuggled and petted.  She loves to chase Kiah and Kayleigh and will grab onto their tails to try to keep up to them.  She is the comic of the group. She is smart and knows how to express what her needs are.  Mia makes it no secret when she needs to go outside or wants to eat or be snuggled with.  She gets rather insistent about her needs.  Humm I wonder who is training who.  Mia has only just begun her training for being a therapy dog.  She did wonderfully with obedience and socialization.  In time she will be a wonderful therapy dog.
